Dear ALS
How dare you take a father from his young children
How dare you take a husband from his wife
How dare you take a brother from his sisters
How dare you take a friend away from his friends
How dare you make a strong hard-working man weak
How dare you make a once healthy person suffer
How dare you be so cruel
Sincerely now a widow because of youππππ
It's a cruel disease that literally eats your muscles one by one. For the caregiver it's just as hard to watch a fully functioning person become so weak that they can barely keep themselves upright. A roofer that can throw a bundle of shingles over his shoulder and climb the ladder onto the roof to a shell of a man, skin and bones, that can barely stand on his own.
